First International Symposium on Immune Responses in Cancer and Infection (IRCI)

January 23rd-25th 2017, Lyon, France - Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon

The Organisers are pleased to announce the launch of the First International Symposium on Immune Responses in Cancer and Infections (IRCI) that will take place in Lyon, France in January 2017. The meeting will bring together scientists and clinicians interested in the immunology of cancer and infections to present and discuss the latest scientific advances in these fields. It is co-organized by two research centres in Lyon focusing on infections (CIRI) and cancer (CRCL), respectively.

Scientific scope of the Symposium

Novel biotherapies, specific kinase inhibitors and immunomodulatory antibodies have revolutionized the treatment of cancer, autoimmunity, and infectious diseases. This new era of molecular medicine has become possible thanks to major advances in immunology. The focus of this symposium is therefore to shed light on recent progress in immunology, from early steps of the immune response to the late regulation of inflammation. This will also cover innate sensing, immune checkpoints, and effector mechanisms. New technologies including genome editing, exome sequencing and live cell imaging will be emphasized during the program as they often drive major advances in immunology. How the current understanding of immune mechanisms might enable the development of next-generation vaccines or curative therapies for patients with cancer or infections will be an over-arching theme of the meeting.

Main topics
- B cell responses
- Dendritic cells
- ILCs and unconventional T cells
